What to put on the bulldog equipment. M41 Walker Bulldog: Nerfed in WOT

25-03-2016, 14:36

Good day to all fans of the game World of Tanks! Now we will talk about one of the best light tanks of our favorite game, a fast, maneuverable, fast-firing and dangerous car - this is the M41 Walker Bulldog guide or just Bulldog, as most players call it.

TTX of the tank Bulldog

The first and main advantage that we notice when considering the Bulldog characteristics is speed. Like the vast majority of light tanks, i.e. fireflies, this car It has excellent mobility, gaining its maximum speed very quickly, and also has good maneuverability.

It is thanks to the speed of 56 kilometers per hour that our lack of armor (clearly visible in the model’s overalls) becomes an insignificant minus, after all, what kind of firefly has armor? However, Bulldog World of Tanks has not the smallest dimensions, our silhouette is quite high, so you should always act carefully, clearly calculating options, and not just rely on speed.

Another advantage of our tank is its excellent viewing range of 400 meters. Standing in the bushes and not showing any signs of life, you can quite successfully shine an enemy who has less camouflage parameters and only approaches the key position.

Gun

Arms affairs are even more interesting than with general characteristics. The fact is that for the M41 Bulldog, a gun is another huge advantage. As you can see, we were given a choice of 2 guns, each of which can be called the top:
1. The first is the standard version with good penetration, fast reloading, nice accuracy and stabilization parameters, as well as increased one-time damage.
2. The second is a cannon with a loading magazine. In the store we have 6 shells that we spit out at amazing speed, after which we go for a very long 36 second reload, but these 900 damage are worth it.

The fact is that both guns of the Walker Bulldog have almost the same parameters, the insignificant difference is only that the first option is a bit more accurate and the damage can do more, otherwise you can see for yourself. Thus, the weapon should be chosen precisely on the basis of its style of play and skill. However, the loading drum in skillful hands is not only a formidable weapon, but also a sea of fun, and for the enemy a continuous headache.

By the way, like most american tanks, our gun has good tilt angles - 10 degrees down and 20 up.

In general, it’s much more efficient for a player to ride the M41 Walker Bulldog World of Tanks with an ordinary gun, since it has much greater firepower and stability in terms of the ability to deal damage continuously without leaving for a very long reload, during which we will very vulnerable.

Advantages and disadvantages of the M41 Bulldog

So, we examined the M41 Bulldog characteristics, we also figured out the gun, and now it's time to take the first results.

For the M41 Bulldog, an overview of the main strengths and weaknesses will look like this:

Pros:
1. Excellent mobility and maneuverability;
2. Good weapons;
3. The ability to choose one of two types of guns;
4. Great review.

Minuses:
1. Lack of reservation;
2. Bulldog WoT demanding skill.

M41 Walker Buldog Equipment

For the M41 Bulldog, equipment is a very important aspect, because it is a great way to emphasize our already strengths, so the choice will be this:
, , .

Our task is to provide comfortable shooting on the move and during short stops, which we do. However, for those who want to concentrate on the review as much as possible, or if you do not have the appropriate perks, you can equip the M41 Bulldog tank, significantly increasing the viewing range.

Crew training

Choosing crew perks for the M41 Bulldog, we pursue the same goals as in the case of equipment - comfortable shooting even on the move. However, there are more options, and the choice will be as follows:
 Commander (radio operator) -,,,.
 Gunner -,,,.
 Driver mechanic - , , , .
 Charger -,,,.

Equipment on the M41 Bulldog

For M41 Bulldog equipment is selected according to the standard scenario:, and. If possible, all of these consumables are replaced with premium ones, and regarding the latter, a fire extinguisher, it can be safely replaced, we rarely burn.

Game tactics on the M41 Bulldog

What about firefly tactics? Your task is to provide competent coverage of positions and the separation of enemy forces. But do not confuse with a thoughtless jerk ahead, when due to your speed you break into the camp of the enemy and quickly go to the hangar, there is no sense in this. M41 Bulldog tactics involves the active use of terrain, as well as dense vegetation. Sometimes it’s wiser to stand in the bushes and stand there long enough than to spend precious strength points in an attempt to actively shine.

If a “lamp” lights up above your head, quickly change position and do not stop until 10-15 seconds have passed. Regarding the implementation of damage, it is better to shoot only in those cases when you are sure that they do not see you. The second option is to twist the enemy and shoot him on the go, it is always fun and a sense of self-worth appears. And if you choose a gun with a loading magazine, carefully monitor the number of shells and calculate the reload time.

Regarding that, the M41 Bulldog is worth taking or not, the answer is obvious - take it. The tank is really very strong and cheerful, and also opens up good prospects for further pumping.

M41 Bulldog guide review on the tank what equipment to put and what perks to pump to the crew, as well as video on the tank how to tank how to play on it to get silver and experience. M41 Bulldog This is a kind of tank.

For its level, it has a good gun, by the way, I advise you not to put a top gun on it, and which with a drum it has mega many shells as many as 10 pieces I don’t know what the potato was guided by screwing such a capacious drum and where the crew is among 10 shells))).

But the fact remains and put this gun of grief you will not know. You need to play the outdoor game, it is advisable to move from place to place by shooting damage. Fortunately, the speed and stealth of the tank allows this. Wonderful vertical angles also do the trick. You can shoot damage as usual medium tank leaning out of the hill.

Advantages of the M41 Bulldog tank

 1. Excellent speed allows you to quickly escape from the light.
 2. A very worthy weapon with a good DPM of almost 2000 damage per minute, though the cd of the drum is long, but 10 shells are no joke to you.
 3. Good vertical aiming angles allow you to play almost without noticing inconvenience.

Disadvantages of M41 Bulldog

 1. As usual with light tanks, this is their cardboard and small hp.
 2. Ammunition criticized almost every battle
 3. Gold shells are very mediocre penetration, but at the same time expensive. Although who puts them on the drum))) 10 shells will leave you without pants and underpants, perhaps too.
 4. The reloading of the drum could be less, although with 10 shells it is almost not needed at all. So those are the disadvantages.
 5. The dimensions of the tank are also bolshevaty and if it was made a little smaller then of course it would be better.

M41 bulldog what equipment to put.

Well, firstly, this is necessarily a camouflage network, secondly optics and thirdly horns if you are a fan of shining enemies, and if not, then put optics ventilation and anti-shatter breakdown so that there are less crits.

m41 bulldog what perks to swing the crew.

Well, first of all, those who like to shine need to deflate the commander with a light for everyone else to repair or disguise, then whoever has the disguise pumped out, the eagle's eye is a vindictive smooth turn of the tower, then the battle brotherhood to everyone. To make it clearer I will give a picture below the perks, otherwise you will get confused.

In 1950-1953, during the war in Korea, the Americans used the M24 Chaffee light tank, which was put into service in 1944, for reconnaissance. He had a very high speed - 55 km / h, but in combat conditions due to the low engine power (110 hp) he showed low maneuverability, and due to easy booking (25 mm - the thickness of the frontal armor of the hull and 37- mm - towers) M24 was very vulnerable. Urgently needed a more reliable light tank with better maneuverability and enhanced weapons and protection. Shortly before the end of the war, development began. new car, designated T37. The first prototype - T37 Phase I - was ready in 1949. The second prototype T37 Phase II differed from it in its tower design and a new fire control system. This model received the new designation T41, and its slightly modified version of T41E1 was standardized as M41. At first, the tank received the nickname “Little Bulldog” (“Little Bulldog”), but a little later it was changed to “Walker Bulldog” (“Walker Bulldog”) in memory of General W. Walker, who tragically died in Korea in 1951.

The production of M41 was entrusted to the company Cadillac of the corporation General Motors, and in 1951 the first machines left the factory floor. The crew consisted of four people, three of whom were located in the tower, and the driver was in the front left on the control compartment. His seat was adjustable in height, and if necessary, the driver, along with the seat, could throw himself through the hatch in the bottom to the ground.

Compared to its predecessor, the M41 was better armed: it installed a new 76.2 mm long-barreled gun with an initial projectile speed of about 1000 m / s, equipped with a wedge bolt, a concentric recoil device and an ejection device for removing powder gases. The gun was mounted directly on the pins and covered with a pointed mask. The angle of descent of the gun was -9 °, and the elevation angle was + 19 °. The vertical and horizontal guidance is carried out by means of mechanisms with electro-hydraulic drives. For the gunner was provided with a telescopic sight with variable magnification. On some samples of the M41 tank mounted rangefinder sight.

The commander had his fire control system. On the M41A1 modification, the weapon installation was stabilized in two guidance planes. As auxiliary weapons, a 7.62 mm machine gun coaxial with a cannon and a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun, which was mounted on the roof of the tower, were used. There was no course machine gun on the Walker Bulldog. At the development stage, it was supposed to equip the M41 with an automatic loading system, but it was not installed on serial machines. As an experiment, a 90-mm gun was installed on the M41 (this machine was designated T49), but the experiment did not go beyond the prototype.

The fighting compartment of the tank was equipped with a rotating policeman. Part of the ammunition was located in the bow of the hull to the right of the driver. A Continental gasoline 6-cylinder air-cooled engine was installed, equipped with a supercharger mounted on the shank of the crankshaft. The axial fan of the cooling system was located horizontally above the engine. The engine and transmission oil coolers were mounted with the fans on the sides of the engine in the transmission. Complex fuel tanks were located on the sides of the engine and at the engine bulkhead. On the modification M41A1 and M41A2, the engine was switched to direct injection of gasoline.

At Walker Bulldog, they used a new Allison transverse hydrodynamic Cross Drive transmission, which included a complex hydraulic transmission, a three-stage (two forward, one reverse) planetary gearbox and a multi-radial planetary differential type of rotation mechanism. The gearbox and the rotation mechanism were controlled by a hydraulic actuator from one handle swinging in two planes. The main elements of the transmission were combined with the engine in one unit. In the undercarriage of the tank, tracks with rubber-metal hinges and a rubber coating of the inner surface of the tracks, track rollers of medium diameter with rubber bandages and support rollers were used.

The independent suspension uses torsion bars, supplemented by buffer springs, and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers. The front rollers and steering wheels were linked by compensating devices. In general, the chassis of the M41 had much in common with the corresponding nodes of the M24 Chaffee. With the help of special equipment, the tank could cross a ford up to 2.5 m deep. The M41 light tank participated in many military conflicts, during which it was used for reconnaissance, infantry fire support and, despite a rather large mass, was armed with airborne troops . It was removed from the armament of the US Army for a long time, but has long been used in the armies of Austria, Denmark, Greece, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Chile, Thailand, Taiwan and other countries. A total of 5500 cars of this type were produced.

In Brazil, about 300 M41 went through modernization, after which they received the designation M41B. They installed a 90-mm cannon, a diesel engine with a capacity of 400 liters. with. and new fuel tanks. The cruising range has increased to 600 km, and the combat weight is up to 25 tons. The Danes equipped 50 of their M41s with diesel engines with a capacity of 465 liters. with., a laser sight range finder, thermal imaging devices, fire fighting equipment and a filter-ventilation unit. A modified turret with an Israeli 60-mm cannon was installed on 150 vehicles of the Spanish armed forces, giving the armor-piercing projectile an initial velocity of 1,620 m / s, a fire control system and a diesel engine. Based on the M41 created: 105-mm self-propelled howitzer M52, 155-mm self-propelled howitzer M44 and anti-aircraft self propelled M42. A mounted bulldozer with hydraulic controls has been developed.

Description

The American light tank, developed after the Second World War, had a classic layout, a crew of 4 people and a combat weight of 23.2 tons. Armed with a 76 mm M32 rifled gun with a 60-barrel long barrel and two machine guns: 12.7 Browning M2HB anti-aircraft guns and a 7.62 Browning M1919A4E1 coaxial gun. The M41A1 was designed to replace the already obsolete M24 Chaffee.

Main characteristics

Armor protection and survivability

Booking a tank of 32 mm maximum, which in the realities of its combat rating indicates that there is no armor. Any anti-aircraft gun, and sometimes a 12.7 mm machine gun, can penetrate this armor and damage the modules and crew of this tank. Armor for a “bulldog” is mobility and the ability to avoid return fire. Sometimes, there are ricochets from the “cheeks” of the turret and the gun’s mask, and it also happens that chamber shells do not fire fuses for such thin armor - but this is so rare that you should not rely on it.

Mobility

The low weight and a good indicator of the specific power of the engine provide the tank with quite high mobility, which allows it to quite successfully perform flanking maneuvers, as well as quickly climb various heights both on roads and outside them. The maximum speed when driving over rough terrain is 41 km / h. Although this indicator is higher on the roads, the declared maximum 72 km / h will be obtained only when descending from a hill. Also, due to its light weight, the tank has one feature - at high speed it can roll over when hitting a wooden fence or similar wooden obstacles. Speed back - 18 km / h.

Armament

Main gun

The main weapon of the tank is the 76 mm M32 rifled gun. Its starting ammunition includes an armor-piercing pointed-headed solid projectile M339 with a penetration of 180 mm and a high-explosive fragmentation M352 with a penetration of 12 mm. As is clear from the figures, with the first type of projectile the machine cannot show outstanding results, the characteristics of armor penetration do not allow for confident penetration of many heavy (and even some medium) tanks. The next projectile is the M319 armor-piercing sub-caliber projectile with a 208 mm penetration, which allows penetrating any enemy encountered at a certain angle. The last, and the best, projectile is the M331A2 armor-piercing sub-caliber projectile with a penetration of 232 mm, which makes the gun of this tank perfect for its B.R. The first shot should disarm the enemy, damaging him the gunner or the breech of the gun, then immobilize him, and then methodically disable crew members. The gun also has good vertical guidance angles: from -10 degrees to +20

A 7.62 mm machine gun is paired with a cannon; its ammunition capacity is 4,900 rounds. Anti-aircraft 12.7 mm machine gun M2 mounted on the roof of the tower at the commander's hatch. There are 2175 rounds of ammunition for this machine gun.

Machine gun weapons

Course and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight with airplanes, they are also effective against lightly armored vehicles. Evaluate machine gun weapons and give recommendations on its use.

Combat use

M41A1 is a logical development of the branch of American light tanks - a mobile, weakly armored unit with a good gun, designed for flank detours and daring raids behind enemy lines. An engine with a capacity of 500 hp is capable of accelerating the Bulldog up to 40 km / h on the ground forward and up to 10 km / h back, which gives it excellent dynamics for fulfilling its tasks. A gun with M331A2 sub-projectile shells with a 232 mm breakdown and a reload of 6.6 seconds allows you to effectively hit all opponents that this machine may encounter. On the other hand, due to the fact that the projectile is sub-caliber, the area of destruction is extremely small, due to the specifics of this type of ammunition. Therefore, an effective action on the tank will require study weak points and the location of the modules and crew of potential opponents. The armor as such is only in theory, because most often even 20 mm guns can penetrate it and cause damage to modules or the crew. It is for this reason that the tank often suffers from enemy anti-aircraft self-propelled guns. Also, the “Bulldog” has rather large dimensions, in the side projection it is even larger than the IS-2 - therefore, good knowledge of the maps and the landscape on them is necessary for skillfully avoiding the eyes of the enemy.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

 • The top sub-caliber breaks through enough armor for its rank
 • A powerful engine and low mass as a whole allow more or less expeditious movement on the battlefield
 • Pretty high rate of fire
 • Large-caliber anti-aircraft machine gun
 • There is a NVD

Disadvantages:

 • The reservation is purely bulletproof. M41A1 is evenly pierced through the front by anti-aircraft guns; artillery and air bombs are a serious danger;
 • A machine of quite big dimensions - to notice and get on this tank is as easy as shelling pears. It is worth remembering this constantly;
 • Lack of stabilizer - the gun sways for a very long time after stopping, which is a serious drawback for a light tank;
 • Stock shells have low armor impact, and are also prone to ricochets and non-penetration. As the main one, it makes sense to use only the top-end subcaliber;
 • Low speed of vertical guidance;
 • Sight low magnification does not allow firing at long distances.

History reference

"Bulldogs before commissioning"

M41 in Vietnam

The light tank M41 Walker Bulldog, designed to replace the M24 Chaffee and being an enlarged copy of it, began to be designed in 1946, despite the fact that the concept of this machine originated in 1942, during the development of the medium tank T20. Therefore, in terms of its combat weight, the T37 (prototype M41) approached the weight of the first modifications of the Soviet T-34 medium tank, and surpassed it in terms of armament power.

Already in 1949, the first version of the new light tank, the T37-I, was equipped with a 76.2 mm M32 gun. The next version of the T37-II installed a tower of a new form with a reinforced mask. The machine was equipped with a gun stabilization system and a range finder, as well as improved shelving racks for ammunition. On the T37-III modification, which later became the M41 light tank, automation reached a new level: an automatic loader was installed, and the gun stabilization system was replaced with a new one manufactured by IBM.

In 1950, the car was adopted under the M41 index Little Bulldog, but later, after the death in Korea as a result of a car accident of General W. Walker, it was renamed Walker Bulldog. In the same year, the Cadillac Motor Car M41 Walker Bulldog was put into mass production and entered the army in 1951.

The combat weight of the new tank was 23.5 tons. A 6-cylinder Continental AOS-895-3 air-cooled gas engine with 500 hp was installed on it. Cruising on the highway at M41 was 161 km. The car developed a speed of 72 km / h. Booking a light tank ranged from 13 to 32 mm, depending on the location of the reservation.

The M41 Walker Bulldog was equipped with a 76.2 mm M32 gun with 57 unitary shots. The machine installed a 7.62 mm Browning M1919A4E1 machine gun coaxial with the main gun and 5000 rounds, as well as a 12.7 mm Browning M2NV machine gun with 2175 rounds. The light tank was also equipped with 8 smoke grenade installations. The crew of the car was 4 people.

M41, produced until the end of the 50s, was produced in the amount of 3,729 units (according to other sources - 5,500). The main modifications of the M41 Walker Bulldog were: pre-production prototype T41; M41A1 (1953); M41A2 (1956); M41A3 (1958); M41DK1 - 80s car for ground forces Denmark M41D - for armed forces Taiwan. Based on the M41 Walker Bulldog ZSU M42 Duster, self-propelled guns M44, self-propelled guns M52 and M75 armored personnel carrier were produced.

Having reached the Korean Peninsula before the end of hostilities, the M41 Walker Bulldog replaced the M24 light tank in units. However, the M41 did not stay long in combat units: its considerable size and heavy weight did not allow the machine to be used as a reconnaissance tank. For the same reasons, the transfer of the M41 from one battlefield to another was comparable to transporting a medium tank.

Proceeding from the principle “God, I’m not worth it to you”, the “light” M41 taken out of service with the US Army began to be transferred and sold to the armed forces of other countries: Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Great Britain, Northern (like trophies) and South Vietnam, Guatemala, Greece, etc.

Nevertheless, despite its unsuitability (according to the US military), the M41 Walker Bulldog was able to participate in numerous wars in various hot spots in the world.

Equipping in 1961 with M41 machines a brigade of “5206” mercenaries who landed on Playa Giron to overthrow the communist government of Cuba, the United States provided a service to the USSR. The loss of the landing amounted to five tanks in battle and the same amount during the retreat. Subsequently, the Cubans transported one of the cars to the Soviet Union. During the next conflict, between Somalia and Ethiopia in 1964, the Ethiopian M41 Walker Bulldog, meeting in battle the Somali T-54/55 tanks, could not give the latter a worthy rebuff. In the battles for the settlement of Jijigu, the Somalis destroyed about 9 M41.

In 1965, American light tanks were also supplied to the regime of South Vietnam, which involved them in battles with the Viet Cong. Later, the M41 was widely used during the Vietnam War, participating, for example, in the 1971 Lam son 719 offensive, where they managed to destroy a certain amount of North Vietnamese armored vehicles. The offensive failed, and in the course of the subsequent retreat, a certain amount of M41 was thrown. These vehicles entered service with the troops of North Vietnam. But overall, these light tanks did not play a significant role during the conflict. For example, in one of the battles of 1972 for the village of Tan Chang, the North Vietnamese T-54 entered into battle with five M41s and destroyed them all.

Walker Bulldog was also involved in the civil conflict in Lebanon in the 80s. last century. Nevertheless, despite all the failures in local conflicts, a number of M41 Walker Bulldog were in service with individual countries in the early 2000s.

The bulldog closest in style to the game is similar to amx 13-75. A light tank of the 7th level, has good driving performance of a firefly and is not deprived of a gun in terms of it. Logically, there M 41 is a logical continuation of the T37, so we get a very similar car, but with an improvement in all characteristics

 . Aiming time - 2.1 s.
 . Accuracy - 0.4 m.
 Engine:
 . Power - 550 l / s.
 . The maximum speed is 72 km / h.
Recommended Equipment:
 Depending on the style of the game, there may be several options, but the most universal option is: “Vertical Stabilizer”, “Enlightened Optics”, “Improved Ventilation”.
 Ventilation will be useful to any tank. Optics is a plus of 40 meters to your wonderful view. The stabilizer will facilitate the destruction of any target, because shooting on the go is not an easy task, but the LT stops most often, just before entering the hangar.
Equipment.
 The set of equipment is the most standard: first aid kit, repair kit and fire extinguisher. Of course, at your own peril and risk, a fire extinguisher can be changed to a Coke box.
 Crew.

 . The commander is the sixth sense for warning about the glare and the aquiline eye, enhancing visibility.
 . The gunner is a smooth turret turn, a sniper (as an option, a sniper can be learned first. With your quick-firing gun, this perk will be a real use).
 . The driver is the king of impassability, a smooth ride.
 . Charger - non-contact warhead (very important! Since it is in the forehead, they criticize it often.)
 The third ability is better to learn the "Combat Brotherhood", although disguise, pumped to the whole crew, does not hurt.
Weaknesses of the M41 Walker Bulldog.
 An important minus for any LT is its large dimensions. Although, you should have gotten used to it by riding the T37. Booking is also practically absent and everything that falls into the bulldog does damage to it. The disadvantages include an extremely long reload of the drum gun. Because of this, it is an order of magnitude inferior to the second top in terms of PDM.
Strengths of the M41 Walker Bulldog.
It is very pleasant that there are significantly more pluses than minuses. This is a wonderful tank, quite comfortable in the game. It has a good maximum speed of 72 km / h and an agility of 56 degrees per second. Equipped with good weapons. Or rather, the choice of two guns. One with an excellent loading drum, and the second is more comfortable, accurate, with a large PDM, but without a drum. Also, an excellent overview of 400 meters gives the right to the first shot. Although sometimes shooting is not necessary at all, the M41 very successfully fulfills the role of light on the battlefield.
Battle tactics on the M41 Walker Bulldog.
 The first part of the battle we play the role of active or passive light. We scout the enemy tanks and pass their coordinates to the allies for damage. Toward the end of the battle (or maybe even in the middle) we are planning a breakthrough to artillery. In some situations, the bulldog can significantly help to restrain, or push the incredibly strong flank, going to the defending opponents in the stern. For example, T 95 in Himmlsdorf banana, which holds 3-4 heavy tank allies, without good support, can become just an easy frag for a brisk light tank. You just need to wait for the turtle to shoot and during the reload rush to her in the stern.
 By the way, if, by the will of randomness, you were thrown into the minimum level of battles, and for M41 it is the 8th, then no one will forbid to play the role of a medium tank. The only thing that distinguishes you from representatives of this class is the complete lack of armor (although STs do not boast of this indicator) and not so much damage from a shot. However, this does not bother the same 13-75, and you should not.
